you can’t ? – kidding. It’s actually fairly easy… but sounds like a lot of steps…. . type out what you want it to say, select transparent backing, and copy it… before you unselect it, set the font colour to black (or whatever colour you want the shadow to be)… then paste the copied text, select the colour you want it, and position it to be just offset from the orriginal text, creating the shadow effect.
This –although sometimes you have to watch out for edge dithering (I think thats the right term –corrections welcome) if you select different colors & move text, even in transparent mode. I usually just do it once in black then type it out again in another color, sans copying. And be sure to save in .png.
