This dog has been a great companion and protector. He showed up on our doorstep one night…we don’t know where he came from. Nobody claimed him, so we kept him. His name is Lou.

I’m surprised he did not get named for the odd stripe on his back.
We really like people names for dogs. We don’t know where the stripe came from. It’s not centered or even very straight….vet said it could have been from getting nicked with a scalpel during cesarian delivery. But, that was just a guess. My MIL offered up “Stripey”. We passed.
Should’ve named him Graham

Looks like a ridgeback cross staffordshire bull terrier or a ridgeback cross mastiff. Or maybe all three thrown in there for good measure.
The heads very staffy. The coat looks ridgey. The longer legs and body reminds me of mastiff.
And he’s a beautiful looking dog.
Looks quite similar to my Doberman/Boxer dog I have. Coloring is lighter but the build is about the same. She’s hilarious and uses her front feet for everything.

That collar looks mighty uncomfortable riding so high on his throat…

He’s all neck….so….if I try to put any collar around the base of his neck, next to his shoulders, he just controls me. He’s a strong dog. Gotta work smarter, not harder.
It is a Dogtra Electronic Collar. I highly recommend them.
