Fringe can be really great, and I’ve followed it religiously… but they really shit the bed with the last half of this season. They’ve taken some turns I didn’t care for before (Fauxlivia covertly switching places last season), but always managed to do something interesting with it and turn me around…
Until Bellivia. Goddamn, if that wasn’t the biggest facepalm ever. I can’t say they’ll ever recover from that… or at least, that I’ll stick around long enough to find out.
My only issue with the show is their attempt to make the two universes so close and different at the same time. With different technologies and histories, the two sides ended up with the same people ending up in the same relationships living at the same addresses for the whole of history up until this generation, where it gets just wacky enough to make us say, “Ohhh, it’s in the OTHER universe this week…” …?
I feel like they’ve made a lot of mistakes with the “Over There” canon that are going to sink a great show.
I’m pretty sure I’ve got a doctorate from a real Big 10 university in Artificial Intelligence (Comp. Sci). I don’t remember a time machine being involved, either.
fringe 😀
Fringe has terrible science, but it’s awesome TV.
Too bad it doesn’t have much longer, but that may be a good thing. They won’t be able to drag out the plot lines until the show is unwatchable.
I’m looking at you, X-Files.

“Artificial intelligence”
Hope not.

Artificial intelligence – that’s when blondes dye their hair brown
