My friend kept telling me about a cherry old truck for sale in Gila Bend, so I pulled over to take some photos for him. $6K for a beat up 1946 Dodge? I don’t think he’s going to buy it now. LOL

    That is an awesome looking vintage truck. The body looks to be in pretty decent shape. I would haggle down from $6k, but it’s not that far off the mark, I think. Depends on whether or not they’ve covered up a lot of rust damage and how many of the original dash components are still there.

    Primer grey makes me think cover-up of rust. For $4,750 I would take it. If the engine runs great I would go to 5,250 even just to have an awesome piece of history.

    You could sell that for $10K in Alaska. They are that desperate for old vehicles up there.

    It looks like it’s worth $6,000 if the body is not covering rust as njch said.

    I would love to put air bags on that and slam it to the ground

    Rust isn’t that hard to fix on an old truck like that – more important is whether the engine, trans and rear are original. You might find that your ’46 Dodge has a Chevy 250 from an old nova in it – with an Impala trans and a ford 9″ rear – that sort of thing happens a lot in old trucks.

    If it’s all there and all original, $6G is a fair price.
