…labor is prior to, and independent of, capital; that, in fact, capital is the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed; that labor can exist without capital, but that capital could never have existed without labor. Hence they hold that labor is the superior – greatly the superior – of capital.
Excerpt of Lincoln’s Speech on Free Labor vs. Slave Labor
We should reinstate slavery, shit would do wonders for the economy
First we need to pick a group of people that’s ripe for slavery.
I’d say the entire Tea Party would be the most obvious. Starting with Palin.
All of the undesirables: homeless, poor, ugly, stupid.
Let’s go to Wal*Mart!
Most of the general population falls into one of those categories.
Oh. Wait.
that is one serious melon
Lincoln was considered very ugly in his time. He was also supposed to have a very high pitched and squeaky voice.
Basically, he was as uncharismatic as one could get. Many people commented that he was so charmless he could never get into office, which says something in a time before radio of television.
Otherwise he was probably the best president we could get.
This goes well with that other famous lawyer’s “it depends on what your definition of “is” is”.
It kind of depends on what your definition is and the scope of the words ‘labor’ and ‘capital’. Bottom line – if capital migrates to a more favorable venue, then enjoy that labor supremacy thing.
lawyers like unions are ,licensed to prey on the economy and the citizenry.
