Although I’m sure someone will tell me that based on his gun blah, and the thread count of his chinstrap and the plastic button on his shirt that this is OBVIOUSLY a- wait, when did they invent plastic again?
That’s definitely post-WW2. Somewhere between the Korean War and the Vietnam war. I’m not sure if that gun was ever fielded; it looks like a weird upgrade to the M3 Grease gun.

The gun is a Carl Gustav M/45. Given that, and the uniform, this is most likely a Vietnam era Navy SEAL circa 1966.

Okay, should have said that is my best guess. Could also be Swedish Home Guard. Hard to tell from the photo.

I had that type of gun when i did my service in sweden back in -88.
disassembled and assembled it in 45 sec flat.
great gun to handle, you could dunk in water, then in sand.
a quick rinse and your’e good to go again.

damn, late to the party..
what he ^ said
Is it me or does naming a military program “RIP” sound like maybe not the best idea?
Goddamn, son. God. Damn.
I bow to your superior Google-Fu.
Well I was wrong. Damn you Swedes.
Judging by his uniform and the choice of weapon, I’d say he’s in some branch of the military. Probably one from Earth.
That’s obviously Lee Adama cicra 5 BBY fighting the borg.
Ah, yes, the geek tri-factor. Well done.
Side note, those black leather gloves with the strap are the same black leather gloves they issue as the standard work gloves in today’s Army.
Also RIP is no-longer the name of the program.
Plastic was invented in the early 1900s, originally introduced as “Bakelite.”
