Indeed, you are not mistaken. Eva Unit 01, to be precise. I still have a soft spot for shows that start off simplistic and easy to follow, yet by the end of the last episode, you have no idea what the fuck is going on.
And the illustration is based on Evangelion 2.0 if I’m not mistaken. By the way, did you knew that Rebuild of Evangelion (2.0) was more and less created to make the series more accesible to american fans that didn’t knew what the fuck was going on by the end of the last(s) episode(s)?
😛
The rebuild series is totally different from the original series, xept Evangelion 1.0 but after that its pretty much rewritten with a new pilot and nuff other changes
Me? Trolling? Nevar! I hadn’t a clue what this was when I posted it, so I just slapped a lame-ass Transformers quote in there with scarcely a thought given to actually being right. A few days later I saw the box cover for Evangelion and went, “Huh. So that’s where it’s from.”
Evangelion, if I am not mistaken
and I’m very rarely mistaken.

I doubt even the Japanese know wtf is going on near the end of that series.

I never could enjoy this series.
