Wow, you’re working quick to attack a strawman. I never said anything about free clinics.
I merely observed that obvious flaws of a system that is driven with a profit motive. With that impetus, the industry will move towards what is profitable. Actual care of the patient is not the priority, and as a result, unessential or ineffectual care is given, as long as it results in profit.
Well first off I accepted that I misworded my previous statement so I didn’t feel like arguing over that, and now I wanted your clarity on how exactly is it profitable If you were a therapist working at a free clinic. Since most people volunteer their time there what exactly is the priority?
You said, that, “Actual care of the patient is not the priority,” in profit driven clinics,” and you also said that in nonprofit clinics, “the priority is to provide the care the patients need.” That leads me to assume that, Since, you want to get better, and since getting better is the priority in nonprofit clinics, then the nonprofit clinics are indeed better, Or so I understand from your shtick.
A reply button isn’t available on your post, so I’m replying to myself.

Just another straw man. You’re so desperate to prove me wrong that you’re arguing against what you imagine me to believe.
If you actually scrutinized my post, you would see that I actually don’t necessarily think a “free clinic” provides better care. A free clinic has it’s own weaknesses and strengths over a profit driven clinic.
A profit driven system will have more capital and resources. Unfortunately, being profit driven, it is not necessarily inclined to actually care for its patients unless that is adequate incentive.
For instance, say a person pays premiums for 30 years, then is diagnosed with a treatable form of cancer. The insurance provider then finds an excuse to drop coverage for the patient, because it helps their bottom line.
Make no mistake, this happens often.
A “free clinic” does provide free care. It has a drawback because of a lack of resources. It has a strength because, for a person who can not get help elsewhere, something is better than nothing.
But neither choice is a perfect sollution.
The problem with your argument is you making up what I believe, then expecting me to defend it. It’s a strawman argument.
You’re also making the false dilemma fallacy. You’re trying to shoehorn the argument into to extreme alternatives, without considering other alternatives.
I think the problem with you is you’re too wrapped up in propaganda. I can tell by the posts you make on MCS. The mistake you’re making is you let propaganda influence your opinions without thinking for yourself.
I can tell by your overly-defensive reaction to my criticism. You’ve been told that profit is good, and anything less is evil socialism.
It was never about proving a point, It was about the argument. I actually agree with you when you say its profit driven, hell thats why I’m going into psychology. I’m just pointing out that the entire industry isn’t profit driven, just as you pointed out Non profit organizations. And just because I make a post doesn’t necessarily mean that I believe it. But I knew you’d run to protest it and that those 2 would go to defend it. Like I said before, It’s all entertainment.
Fucking Emo kids!
this was on postsecret a few weeks ago.
Wait.
A profit driven medical industry is less than perfect?
Color me shocked.
Everything is profit driven
What about non-profit organizations?
They are concerned with the making of the moneys, as they cannot profit whatever their goal is without them.
Just saying “everything” makes your argument invalid.
To disprove it all I have to do is find something that falls into the category of “everything” that is non-profit.
See how easy it is?
Ok then, Where do free clinics fall in your “profit driven medical industry” theory

What’s your point?
Well first off I accepted that I misworded my previous statement so I didn’t feel like arguing over that, and now I wanted your clarity on how exactly is it profitable If you were a therapist working at a free clinic. Since most people volunteer their time there what exactly is the priority?
“Well first off I accepted that I misworded my previous statement so I didn’t feel like arguing over that,”
Well, that shows you can see your own mistakes. That shows you’re capable of thought.
“and now I wanted your clarity on how exactly is it profitable If you were a therapist working at a free clinic. ”
It’s not. But this is just the opposite extreme of a for profit system.
“Since most people volunteer their time there what exactly is the priority?”
Well, I can’t speak for the volunteers since I’m not a mind reader. Hopefully the priority is to provide the care the patients need.
So you’re saying that people who go to a free therapist are getting a better service than those who pay for it?
No, I never said that at all. You’re jumping the gun.
That’s just part of the strawman argument you’re constructing.
Try harder.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

So lemme get this straight.
You claim everything is profit oriented.
I refute that easily.
Then you claim your point was that everything isn’t profit oriented.
So you lied just to start an argument for no reason. Then you shifted gears to give yourself some vain sense of superiority.
You have issues, dude.
I think I like you.
