Layers of ground turkey, sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce coated with more mashed potatoes, a layer of sweet potatoes, and a cup-and-a-half of mini-marshmallows.
“and a cup-and-a-half of mini-marshmallows” because nobody in Thanksgiving land remembers how to make meringue?! (which is essentially the same thing, but without gelatin)
We never put meringue on sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving when I was growing up. I’ve never heard of anyone putting meringue on sweet potatoes, actually. Just marshmallows.
Which, sweet potatoes is a thing, as The Google tells me. Still. I don’t blame the cook for using marshmallows. It’s traditional to a lot of people. Not that meatcake is tradition, but it does date back at least to the 50s. And it’s a tradition in my house, now. Viva la Meatcake!
I’m frightened.
Someone hold me.
Ugh. Do NOT want. One of those things that SEEMS like a good idea at the time, but just doesn’t come through!
That is just disguesting and gross..cant say enough about how bad the idea really is…
I want.
I think the trick is to flip it upside down and eat downward in layers.
Just so you know…there’s a whole gallery of meatcakes like this. Including a much more beautiful Thanksgiving version:

and the pretty turkey loaf:

Do want!
As long as is cooked thoroughly and served warm, sounds good to me!

“Sweet potatoes with meringue is a thing”, that should have read.
