It’s actually amazing to me how much the brain *isn’t* like a computer. Brain structure isn’t separated into receiving, interpreting and storing data the way a computer is, but each structure does a little bit of everything. That’s one the reasons that I don’t think transistor based, Turing-machine computers will every produce real AI.
