Thinking of taking out the stock door 6.5″ s and only using these till I get good speakers for the doors.
Are these good?
head unit is 40×4 MAX, so I’m sure that’s only 20w rms?

goddam you are a faggot
(I am jealous)
I know
you are stepping down in size, so you will lose sound..RMS is not always half of the MAX, on cheaper head units, such as yours, it can be 10-25% of the max.
but to answer your question, those are descent, put them in the dash, and leave the factory 6.5″ if you have 4×6 in the dash.
RMS is the only rating you can trust.
“1200w max of 300w RMS”
From what I was told, that 1200w max could have been when they first turned the device on and got the rating for a split second.
Anyways I got the matching 6.5’s for the front doors and those are also 2-ways and add a lot of treble.
I know what RMS, and MAX is, i said, RMS is not ALWAYS HALF of the MAX.
turn your treble down then. if you want to get really crazy, cut the wire going to the tweeter on them. or put some duct tape over the tweeter, and try that. if you are looking for more bass from your doors, you might want to get some 6.5″ woofers for some midbass, but you will most likely not notice much of a difference, unless you get into a nice system, with amps on all speakers, a nice crossover, and get your stages setup right.
I think you have them a little bit too close together.
