Fisherman Raphael Biagini reeled in what is believed to be a 30-pound koi carp in France, where the fish are quite popular. The fish, a vivid orange, looks a great deal like a giant goldfish. The photo is several months old, but it’s buzzing right now, thanks to an article from the U.K.’s Daily Mail.
looks fake
h..holy shit.
Is it real?
I feel so conflicted.
Perhaps it’s a prop.
Yeah, like it says in the article: he’s not holding it as if it’s that heavy.
a wild magikarp appears
Wild magikarp uses splash.
There’s no reflection.
Is too. Look by the tail fin.
Oh, so the rest of the reflection is invisible, eh.
I have a koi pond and they get pretty big, but nowhere near that big.
Well. You`re not gonna flush that when it croaks, are you?
Koi can most certainly get this big, depending on how well the stock was culled. For most serious koi owners, this is not even a remarkable specimen. The size is certainly nice, but ogon (single color)are not highly sought after, and this one is rather splotchy.
And it is not a goldfish, damn it. Both are carp, but they are remarkably different fish. At least the article got it right.
What, are you saying koi get to be the size of pick up trucks?
I`ve picked up my baseball sized goldies in my bare hands, and something just doesn`t add up the way he`s holding that fish. Looks COMPLETELY fake to me, however the complete article didn`t seem to think so. It also stated the largest koi on record weighed NINETY FUCKING POUNDS.
However, if this was simply a huge goldfish pillow, I would want one.
