After delivering U.S. Soldiers and Iraq dignitaries to their final destinations, Crew Chief Sgt. Fred Oser, A. Company 2-25, Combat Aviation Brigade, attached to 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, dismounts the 240 Bravo Machine Guns from the UH-60 Black Hawk used during the morning’s mission to several Combined Security Checkpoints in the Ninewa province, Iraq, July 2. This is the proper text that came with Gieske’s photo. I know there is a shit storm on Digg because one submitter fucked the description up.
Do you have that link. I was in the Army, and whoever posted this is an idiot. This soldier clearly has a 25th Infantry unit patch, not 3rd Infantry so I question the authenticity. I’d like to see the Digg link.
Nice Oakley Shades.
If you look up bad ass in the dictinonary you will see this picture.
Sup, Halo: Reach?
I feel like this would not fit in halo:Reach, because a helicopter is just slightly larger than the jetpacks in Halo:Reach
brb
going to join military
funny, canada has no army.
I’m going to join the Texas state militia and exterminate the domestic raccoon population.
Are you Retarded ?
I understood everything after “used”.
Motherf*-ing badass helicopter machine gunner of this-or-that specific grouping dresses down after a day well spent.
s’about where i picked up too
Ah yes, the M240, one of my most favored weapons of choice.
“Nothing says happiness, like a belt fed weapon.”
Although my M2HB “Ma Deuce” will always be my favorite.
One guy commented as Hale Reach, but when I first looked at it, I thought of “Ghost” from MW2.
Also, Oakley makes some kick ass ballistic shades, which are authorized (by the US Army anyways) to be worn in theater. They’re just a crap ton of money, lol.
Ghost is dead. 🙁
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Twin_M2HB_machine_gun.jpg
That goes in a helicopter?
I was a commander on an Abrams M1A2 SEP Main Battle Tank.
We didn’t have twin linked .50 cals, although that would have been the shit.
But it’s still called an M2HB (Heavy Barrel).
I have seen chain guns mounted in helicopters, but no twin linked stuff.
knowledge is half the battle
the other half is violence
or was it looking good shit cant remember
hey syn you’ve been “in theatre” you tell me
morons.
Looking “good” has nothing to do with combat.
However, the insurgents did think our vests for air conditioned, our ballistic lenses had x-ray vision, and we head force fields around our Forward Operating Bases.
Fact of the matter is, the more shit you carry to try and look cool, the more weight it adds to your already heavy rig.
You’re right about the first part though: Knowing is half the battle, violence pretty much takes over from there.
The only thing missing is a cherub servitor in the background and the appropriate cries of “FOR THE EMPEROR!”
He radiates a desire to bring peace and minimise death of innocents.
lol
but sad
This is the only cool thing I’ve seen, military-related, on this site. AT LAST!
Whoever posted the text said he is with 3rd Infantry Division, the soldier clearly has a 25th Infantry Division patch on his left side which is for current unit affiliation. So whoever posted this is full of Sh*t!! Might be a photoshop.
