    This almost seems like a quote from “Small Gods” but I can’t remember reading this particular phrase. Regardless, Terry Prachett is a goddamn genius.

    It’s “Hogfather.” Albert is explaining to Death yet another aspect of Hogswatch.

    The part not quoted — the … — is Death:
    YOU HAVE ME THERE.

    The next couple of lines after the quote are:

    AND YOU MEAN THAT BECAUSE OF THIS THE POOR GET POOR THINGS AND THE RICH GET RICH THINGS?

    Death nearly wailed.
