Ukraine doesn’t have the rich Natural Gas resources Afghanistan does. The Russians have been trying to build a pipeline from their country into Afghanistan for years to collect the Natural Gas.

I remember afghanistan before the US invaded..
It was just a peaceful place with sunshine and clear skies, where childen would fly kites in a field of butterflies and a beautiful never diminishing rainbow over head.
The men would sit calmly with smiles on their faces and a tea and newspapers in their hands as they would watch the kids play all day long.

Also, you’re right. We ruined possibly the last bastion of great and good left in the world when we set foot in Afghanistan. Streets paved with gold, lavender farts, a puppy for every child. Such an incredible utopia filled with perfection it was. (Nostalgia)
Actually, that was Afghanistan before the US gave Talibs all those nice weapons to fight off the soviets that the guy in charge at the time actually kinda liked.
The Taliban didn’t exist until 1994, that was 5 after the Soviets left and 5 years after the US, China, Saudi Arabia and a bunch of European countries stop funding the Afghan Mujahideen. So your claim that the US gave the Taliban “nice weapons” is blatantly false.
After the Soviets left, the Afghans were left alone at their request, because Afghans has little trust for outsiders (you know, people you would call ‘imperalist’), so they were left alone. A couple of years later Afghanistan decended into anarchy and THEN the Taliban rose up ruthlessly took control. If any fault is to be blamed on Post-Soviet invasion developments of Afghanistan it would fall on the Afghans.
Which poison is best, do something and be criticised for being imperialist, or do nothing and be critizized for being uncaring/reckless?
