That’s what I do. I currently have seven folders with various nonsensical subcategories. It’s very ineffective and I’m a failure.
i used to name the folders random, i then ended up with random 1-37 .. now i’ve actually got organised it’s so much easier ^^
but if organisation isn’t for you, buy another monitor
there are two people in my life currently who have desktops that look like this. one is my client who gives me money to come over and “clean up” his computer for him. the other is my mother-in-law. she doesn’t give me money, and therefore i don’t touch her computer. at this point, it’s the most virus- and malware-ridden computer on the planet, but the only way i could get her out of my life is to divorce my wife, which isn’t going to happen. 8/
Your desktop should be clean and is only used for recent files

I’ve started using numbers more for organizing stuff. once you know where your shit is, tapping your way thru stuff by folder order is faster. with the new windows key insta type/search we almost have like a command prompt so you can go windowskey c:\1\4\6 enter. the search function is too slow tho, has something to do with how windows handles the search.
