Jack Kirby’s artistry never ceases to amaze me. Many argue that his stuff looks better in the comics themselves, as it was intended, but when you look at something like this in its uncolored state, you have to marvel (sic) at his sense of style and composition, let alone the sheer kineticism of it. More than anyone before or since, he rewrote the visual language of comics.

Jack Kirby’s work outside of Marvel was good by really esoteric. DC let him have OMAC and that series was way out there.
Yeah, his Fourth World stuff was even more trippy. My personal opinion is that his work was better when he had someone like Stan Lee around to rein him in just a little and make his stuff more readable. Without that he goes flying off in every direction –but jesus, what a ride.
