I had one with UPS that isn’t as bad, but seems sillier to me. I ordered from Newegg. They have a warehouse right here in Memphis where the package shipped from. It went all the way to East Kentucky, then turned around and came back here. …hell, I could’ve driven down to the warehouse and picked it up myself in under an hour if they’d have let me.
Did you ask them if you could do a pick up? I’ve never tried it with NewEgg, but I have worked for other warehouses that had occasional customer pick-ups.
The FedEx ground hub here lets me pick-up directly from them. You gotta be willing to wait for a bit though; there’s a whole spiel you have to go through because you’re not actually allowed inside, so you have to wait at the guard shack for someone to bring it out to you.
Amazon does the same thing to me. Their warehouse is about twenty minutes from me, but it still somehow takes four or five days to ship things to me unless I pay extra for expedited shipping.
This is odd, normally if an international package (from Ontario California to the Netherlands) is held up in transit, it is actually held at the location where there is a problem. Then the shipper is contacted for corrections on paperwork or markings and the package is sent on, for it to have been kicked back by the French twice there is something seriously amiss.
I’ve had a few packages that have done this.
one of my friends had one delayed due to “derailment”
FedEx sucks… unfortunately UPS is only marginally better.
