Win95 did not contain Internet Explorer. Back then we had to use carrier pigeons and telnet (or install Netscape or the Plus! pack). Later, in Win98, IE4 became mandatory.
shit yes I remember that. back then I was only 14 and spent a while trying to figure out to install a browser when I didn’t have a browser. If I remember correctly, I used sneakernet and installed it from a 3.5
I wish I remembered what I did on Windows 95, but I suppose I can’t because it wasn’t all that constructive. I probably thought highlighting all items on the desktop was damn cool.
I remember my comment when I first saw it: “So, where’s the shortcut to close it and return to DOS, I want to play games. What do you mean I don’t need to?”
First thing you should do when installing is try to delete internet explorer.

I can’t believe I waited at a store before midnight for that piece of shit…
but it had multitasking! and solitaire!
And that screensaver with the maze!
And a Weezer music video!

I ripped my first cd on win95, to .WAV and used up the entire harddrive to do it.
it was the most amazing thing EVER.
Then someone went and invented mp3 compression, and I spent a day compressing a single album, and that was that.
And they still haven’t bettered it LOL
Notice how much cloudier it was back then.
