    So I’m not (and never would be) a tarantula owner. Is that spider alive or dead or did it just molt a layer or? I’m guessing it’s dead, seeing that the TOP of the thing is lopped off (ICK).

    that is just the old molt…it is very interesting to watch them molt..i love watching mine molt…it does take her some time to get out of the old skin though…the last time took her about 6 hours..
