Arcades are a dying species. *sniffles* Used to be a great place to hang out when I was young. Made lots of friends over a good game of Mortal Kombat. The original. 😉
This is some guy’s basement setup. Bet it costs a pretty penny.

I remember this. The game would randomly spout out very, very heavily garbled voice synth stuff at random intervals when it wasn’t being played. There was one in the grocery store where my mom shopped, near the checkout line, and I remember hearing it continually busting out with:
Jeez…that could almost be the old Silver Coin video arcade that I went to. I loved Defender and Stargate. Plus the old Van’s skate shop was right next door. I could go drool over the tri-color slip-on checkerboards that I wanted to get so bad.
only 25 cents?
*tears*

I’ve got this game for Atari 2600, anyone interested?

“NYNSURRRT COINNNN!!!”
“MAYAN DUH GORFIAM EMMPURR!!!”
“BLZZZLWX MFFMMFBLWB!!!”
I remember wondering why it didn’t drive the checkout girls insane.
Heh, I’ve got it on a cart for the Commodore 64.
