It also looks like Psoriatic Arthritis. My toe nails never looked like that, but basically, that’s what my toes are doing. Some of the physical therapy I do is to keep it from progressing and, hopefully get the toes affected to go back to something like normal.

Those nails are just nasty though. Luckily I’ve never really had nail involvement on my toes and very little on the finger nails. It really is painful and nasty though.
I can take pics to alleviate their fears. They really don’t look anything like the above feet. It’s what I’m desperately (and expensively) trying to avoid. Whoever that foot belongs to has not had any treatments…ever.
I think it’s more likely someone who’s worn shoes that are way too small for them their whole life… my grandmother’s feet looked kind of like this, though her toenails were not smoker’s-phlegm yellow.

Looks like Scleroderma. I have this disease sleeping in me. Your skin becomes hard until you can’t move it.
