nah…don’t shoot him. He needs to scare more people into clinging to their guns and religion and other silly things like the money they earned with hard work. He got elected. Hell I even thought he might do some good perhaps. I was wrong. He can fix healthcare by allowing most insurance providers to cross state borders. Wolf Blitzer actually suggested that to one of his droogies and he said no that wasn’t the kind of choice that the people really need…um…yeah. And lets not get started on what he calls a tax and not a tax… Allow the system to remove him in 2012 and cast him into obscurity with the likes of Carter. 🙂
perhaps I should have been a bit more explanatory. What I meant was that insurance companies shouldn’t have to register for each of the 50 states. One registration at the Federal level and be done with it. AND you cannot have different prices for different markets. Basically something similar to the standardization of the banks in 1863.
Also perhaps a proper tort reform with teeth. At least here in Texas where I live at. We have a watered down tort reform and it does nothing to help out. One is needed that keeps the lawyers from finding loopholes, if that is possible. Keep frivolous lawsuits at a minimum. Losers in the courts decision has to pay the fees for that court.
you’re saying that it’s a bad thing that insurance companies have to be licensed in each state they do business in?
take for example here in florida. we’re running out a bunch of bums because they refuse to play fair and give home insurance to everyone in the state, and not just the safe inland houses.
as I said, one registration and one department that takes care of the oversight of the insurance agencies.
Like any system that is implemented in this world, it won’t be perfect, but I think it would be a fair sight better than what we have now. There will always be bugs. You just have to work through them and hope that there are at least some politicians in power that have some semblance of decency and, if not honesty, an ear that can hear what their constituency wants.
I’m not exactly with you here. you want insurance companies to be licensed by the feds and the states to not have any say who’s doing business in their own state? There’s a shockingly good reason that we have the system that we have in regards to licensing, that’s the only leverage that the states have over people like All State that only wants to insure ‘profitable’ houses, or only wants to insure cars, but not houses.
Perhaps if we had an all or nothing law, but I doubt we’ll ever see that.
Living in West Virginia, I couldn’t get the insurance I wanted because it was based in Maryland. I was stuck paying nearly $1500 p/m to maintain my current insurance, w/ Rx coverage. I don’t understand why I can’t choose any insurance I want right now.
Here’s what Obama is doing: Healthcare, that’s gonna pass. It’s not really even an issue. Republicans are just making noise, they can’t stop it. Clinton was really fucking close. Obama is gonna play ball with everybody, but he’s gonna play like Jordan. He’s gonna spend the first term pushing through the more moderate aspects of his agenda. In the second term he’ll be off the chain, and gay people will smoke pot at their weddings.
And I’ll be a straight guy cheering on the gays getting married and filing for divorce smoking pot from a giant bong. Preach it Dyna-Mole! Obama is playing ball with both sides, even shitting on the left a tiny bit and all the Right can do is whine/bitch/distort/throw a tantrum at everything he does. Like it’s the second fucking coming of Christ. Their silly name calling cracks me up at this point. Flag waving Nationalists can go fuck themselves, war is bullshit.

Insurance companies must be registered and licensed in each state *and* must state mandated coverages in that state. A national company may offer one plan in State A that is much cheaper than the plan offered in State B because State B requires additional coverages be included. A resident in State B is not allowed to be coverage plan offered in State A, even if they don’t have any need for the expanded coverages (i.e., a single male who is required to buy coverage that includes fertility treatments). There is much to be said for allowing companies to offer a basic plan that covers catastrophic coverage, but the current regulatory scheme prevents it.
nah…he has to be riding it.
But of course the unicorn is WHITE and therefore racist in nature. If the black-ish president rides the white creature then all shall be set right.
I agree. He’ll be easier to shoot if he’s higher up.

wtf are you even talking about? what drugs are you on?
are you somehow under the impression that insurance companies can’t operate across state lines?

Hopefully this is a bit clearer.

this is the system working
yeah actually it is a bad thing.
