Though this looks more of an offensive tool to me. Mount it on a chain, get some momentum…those vandals would never see it coming.

Probably because this would hold up to the old “cut the strap off, and snatch the purse” trick, but not necessarily the “Trip the lady, snatch the purse and bolt.” ploy…
