Fuck that, Cloverfield was worse. D9 was had one too many zoom ins , ” oh look a paper bag !” *zoom* “look cat food !” *zoom*
D9 was really bad, it kicked off my motion sickness bad enough I had to leave the theater for a little while. But it was not as bad as the yarf fest that was Cloverfield. I’ve yet to make it past the first 10 minutes of that movie before I have to turn it off.
HA! It sucks that you have motion sickness because those are both really good movies.
A customer told me she has motion sickness. I never really grasped the concept until she explained it.
For the first 30 minutes I managed to watch during my breaks, I did notice some slight head ache like feelings when they zoomed in for no reason.
I didn’t know that happened to other people. I can’t watch anything in an IMAX theater.
I liked cloverfield.
I liked Cloverfield AND District 9.
I have yet to see District 9.
I’ll probably see it when the dvd rip arrives. The cinemas around here don’t seem to want to show it… bastards.

I turned off Cloverfield when I saw the guy holding shit in front of the camera, I think it was a kit-kat bar in a convenience store, I was so annoyed I broke the disc.

I don’t know what you people are talking about. The film is documentary style. When people run and take cover from crazy happenings, naturally the camera shakes. Also this film had really original camera angles. This isn’t a stupid ass Stephen Sommers or McG movie.
McG is awesome!!!!!
This movie does mimic hand held shots. I don’t know how people could get motion sickness from it. Its not that intense. Plus it leaves the narrative device behind fairly early on. I’m not sure what you mean by original camera angles? It looked framed pretty standard to me in every scene.
I’m glad they dropped the action news gimmick and got into the story. I just wish the story had been better. I found this dragged a bit once the universe was established.
So the format is Documentary style, I can understand that but it started out like with the guy filming candy bars and his girlfriend checking out. So even for documentary style it’s fail… Blair witch started documentary style and went mayhem in the middle (I’m not saying that Blair witch is the standard here either.)

He also produces Chuck.
T4 was better than T3. You have to give him that. I didn’t mind it though it owes a lot to the script.
