In Umberto Eco’s 1985 novel, Foucault’s Pendulum, he devotes several pages to how easy it is to make number combinations seem meaningful or consequential. You can do the same thing with any number; it’s a matter of having at least a pea-sized amount of imagination.

It started out strong, but I thought the ending was pretty poorly done.
