Holy shit, Galactica going up against three Cylon Base Stars, that’s fucking awes- oh, wait, Stargate.
I mean, really, could they copy the look of BSG any harder? Oh look, they crammed pyramids into the base stars, that makes them original.
They don’t look remotely BSG-ish. You need your eyes checked. 🙂
YEAH!
Oh wait, Stargate predates BSG (the reimagined series). Damn.
What you see there is the Prometheus which was introduced in 2003, a year before BSG series hit the streets and about half a year before the miniseries was aired.
Unless SG1 traveled back in time again they couldn’t have copied the Galactica.
Actually, what am I saying, did you even take a look at Galactica? They don’t look even remotely similar.
Actually you need to brush up on your cheesy sci-fi history. BSG dates back to 1978. The new series ships are almost identical to the original with the Galactica getting a more industrial (less star wars) skin. If you knock the cheesy pyramids and blocks off of the top of the SG ships then there definitely is a lot of similarity. Course BSG most likely stole the idea from somewhere else.
OH SHIT YOU’RE RIGH-
Oh wait, no one mentioned the reimagined series. Damn.
As far as I can tell, 1978 happened before 2003, but maybe you have a different take on things.
In the movie the ship was a pyramid. I’m assuming Stargate explored an extraverse option.
Is this seriously what they look like? That thing on the right looks like spaceships I drew when I was 6
It also looks a lot like a cock and balls. I try to point this out every time I see a discussion involving ships from the Stargate TV show. I like to think of it as a public service.
Yes indeed, it does look a lot more like that than BSG ships. 🙂
I’ve always liked the look of the earth ships in SG1. Looks like something we would actually build.
