The word führer is ‘leader’ or ‘guide’ in the German language, derived from the verb führen, similar to the latin ‘ferre’, meaning ‘to lead’. Yay Wiki.

You can’t compare two people like that by how many deaths they have caused.
If one man causes a war on purpose where thousands of people die for whatever reason, that is not as extreme as one man who tortures only one person to death because he enjoys seeing people in pain.
I’m not saying Hitler and Stalin had these roles, but you can’t compare their actual roles either.
The keyword is intention.
It’s funny though, to see how easily impressionable people are, when it comes to numbers.
@...dieAntagonista:
Hitler: Killed off a bunch of Jews (and others deemed unsuitable for continuing in the human gene pool) using shaky eugenics information from the late 1890s and early 1900s.
Stalin: Killed off a bunch of wealthy peasant farmers in the name of nationalizing farms and production.
@...dieAntagonista: to quote Eddie Izzard: the reason we let them get away with it is they killed their own people. And we’re sort of fine with that. Hitler killed people next door. Oh, stupid man. After a couple of years we won’t stand for that, will we?
don’t kill the people next door, only kill your people, and no one cares until all the graves are filled.

@...frightfulfish: Hitler didn’t kill people next door. Except the gypsies maybe, but even they can’t be considered next door. Those Jews were rightful citizens, he did kill his own people as well.
I didn’t say Stalin’s doings were acceptable because of that either, but they did not have the same intentions. Not %100, therefore comparing them is nonsensical.
But I do appreciate the straw man argument. It’s cute.

@...Sticky: They did not kill all of the people for the same reasons. Any criminologist will laugh at you, if that’s how you compare criminals.
@Sticky :Oh,he did so much more then eliminate the kulaks. He was great at killing off any potential rival.Their families.Their coworkers, neighbors, friends, etc. But then there was also Mao.And don`t forget Pol Pot.
@...dieAntagonista: Sure, France and Poland have fuck all to do with it. Who cares about intentions? If i want to I can guarantee peace on earth, I just have to kill everyone first. so while the two did not intend the same thing the got to what they wanted by killing, that we can compare.
short message form shitty way to have discussion. you may win an internet discussion, but you’re still a retard.
DieA brings up an interesting point here. Which is worse: The serial killer who kills a few, but in abomidable ways, or the despot who kills large numbers with military might? In some ways, Hitler combined the two, which may be part of the reason why (at least in the west) he’s more reviled than Stalin –who certainly has him beat with sheer scale.
@...dieAntagonista: jsyk… during the holocaust hitler murdered roughly 3,000,000 polish jews. where as the number from Germany and Austria were much less at 240,000. when he invaded poland in 1939 but didnt make them citizens. also highest number of deaths was 1942 at 2,700,000… he was insane… but a military genius

He was a military moron who kept loosing battles after his initial advantage of having only underdeveloped and unprepared enemies faded.
Also, he’s boring by now.
Get me some Saddam Hussein or something.
I’m pretty damn sure that the only reason we didn’t attack / stop the russians is that they were pretty much on par with our old military at the time, and it would be yet another drawn out bloody war. we had just gotten out of one massive cluster fuck, and it would have been very difficult to convince the American public to have another war. Add onto all that the fact that Stalin was a hyper control freak and by the time anyone really knew what was going on, it was already done and over with.
wtf??
that’s hitler, have you seriously never heard of him?
Umlauts
That is actually a bad ass picture.
@...dieAntagonista:
Umlauts
Who is this guy? I’m confused.
He died for Jesus’ sins. Don’t you fucking forget it.
@...Sticky: YOU BEST BE TROLLIN’ BOY!
Also, I am scared by how awesome I find this.
@...Sarcastastic:
Does that mean you know who this is? Who is it? I don’t know. ;_;
@...RSIxidor:
Did you know we have also Mitlauts and Selbstlauts? Mitlaut means basically with-laut, and Selbstlaut means self-laut. Oh and Laut means phoneme.
@...Drewlicious</a:
Nah, it’s a poor black and white silhouette shoop. Would have been impressive in 1990.
Hey it messed with my comment. Sonofabitch. It’s the black magic of the Umlauts.
@...Sticky: … you don’t read threads before posting, do you? Nor have any grasp of history it seems, or are a damn fine troll.
nice!

“Führer” translates to what, precisely? “Leader”?

@...Sticky: THEN STOP GOOFIN’ AROUND!
@...Sarcastastic:
MAYBE I DON’T WANT TO, JERKFACE.
@...Sticky: FINE THEN! SEE IF I CARE! YOU JUST LOOK SILLY!
Quick, someone post the antidote to this shit.Joesph Stalin.
whoa, calm down ya buncha bootlickin’ nazi symapthizin’ antisemitic holocaust denyin’ nihilistical internerds! You’re both wrong! The picture clearly depicts Adolf Hitler!
Hitler’s gangsta right there
Look at it right and it looks like he’s going “^_^”
He is looking right. Lawlz!
Auto-Godwin.
@...mikoyangurevich15: Awesome…a cure worse than the disease.
@...HoChunk:
Given that Stalin killed twice the number of people Hitler did.
More than twice. Around 40 million, to hitler’s estimated 8 million.

yeah @...Gilly: ill take that one back… now that you mention it the french do kinda suck… o wells
@...frightfulfish: “Who cares about intentions?” Judges, criminologists and psychologists.
Let me repeat, I’m not saying either of them is worse than the other, if I did that, I would be comparing them, which I am not.
Comparing them however, by how many people they have killed, is of the same nature children play. If that’s what you want to do, please, continue.
@...kingston87:
I never said Hitler wasn’t a military genius. I’m not sure if he was one, but he was definitely some kind of genius.
@...HoChunk:
Precisely. If you consider only that aspect for a moment, you’ll have to admit that comparing criminals by numbers like that is childish.
