Last year I had my sister take photo\’s of a defensive handgun class I was instructing at. This was shot(no pun intended)with a Canon Digital (rebel? Eos?) 10.1 MP.
It has a burst mode that can take about 7 snaps in one second. I don\’t believe I have ever caught the muzzle flash with my own eyes
during the daytime, making this capture awesome. The shooter was 17-18 and using a Glock chambered for .40S&W
BANG!

PEW PEW…
What glock is it?
defensive handgun class? in case a gun comes at you? american.
I wonder if that’s what the girls of Ecole Polytechnique were thinking at the end… “at least we’re not American”
@...LlamaFrog: Leave it to a foreigner to misunderstand simple English.
@...LlamaFrog:
Enjoy your being mugged and helpless to stop him while I fill my mugger with 8 different holes and walk-away scot free.
@...Sticky: enjoy that self-induced case of false representation and paranoia when you realize that you fear more than you actually know. people like you are the reason gun laws need to be re-legislated. actually, people like you are, more often than not, going to die in an accidental self inflicted “i was just cleaning it and it went off” home-shooting, so i guess it’s win-win.
statistics won’t support this so by all means spin a narrative.
@...dub_1211:
Yes, because before cleaning a weapon you never eject the magazine and clear the chamber. I mean, it’s common sense to clean the bullets while they’re in there too, right?
Wait, the rebel shoots at 7 fps?
Ok, I double checked because that would have blown me away.
The brand spankin’ newest rebel shoots at 3.4 fps.
So whatever she was shooting with was not a rebel.
*geek shuffles off*
@...outofocus: Can’t tell because the picture was edited.
Can someone please tell me what is a defensive handgun class is and how it is different from simply learning how to shoot?
I imagine it teaches you how to quickly find and take cover and properly return fire with minimal self exposure, how to disarm someone pointing a gun at you already, and such. That’s my guess.
Carrying a gun will possibly save you from muggers with knives, if you can draw it faster than they can rush and stab you, but what are you going to do against the muggers already pointing a gun at you?
@...LlamaFrog:
@...sylvanish:
A basic defensive handgun class will cover basic marksmanship along with a review of self-defense law and the legality of carrying/having to shoot.
A good class will cover some basics on combat movement, the difference between cover and concealment, etc… and run exercises like Tueller drills and some IPSEC/IPSC scenarios.
@...sylvanish: fake faint, and when going to the ground pull out gun and cap in from under his chin. there you go 🙂
Nice G22, or is it a G23?
Forgot to post that under hot.
Also, what state are you in. I need to find the wife a course.
did you show her how to hold the gun like that? left hand is a little low doncha think?
@outofocus- cam was a 40D, canon says it can do 6.5fps
@Tikek- yeah the left hand is a lil low, could be due to recoil.
@oldnoob- not sure, lotta them glocks look very similar
@GrandAdmiral- Prado range in Chino Hills CA
@anyone- the class works for both experienced shooters and those who never have used a handgun.
We draw from a holstered position and cover safe draw tactics, proper loading/reloading drills, racking, malfunctions (stovepipes, doublefeeds, magazine seating issues), using cover/walls to your advantage, shooting on the move etc. It’s alot of stuff packed into a singe 8 hour day. The real reward is seeing people become comfortable with their own firearm and clearing their own stoppages/malfunctions on the fly, instead of needing assistance like they did at the beginning of the day. We run various courses on the weekends, about 2 weekends a month. Its usually about 50 students split among two simultaneous courses, and about 8 instructors so we can break into group huddles for each tactic for more personal instruction. more can be found at our school’s site, www.civilianarmstraining.com
