in cod waw I seriously try to bayonet people way too much – like 15 of 20 kills in a game will be with my little bayonet 😀
and with three gas grenades, a gasmask, and martydom no one can see you coming 😛
@...LukeV1-5: We tried that a few times. Fundamental fact of CoD4:
If I have a gun in my hand, I will shoot you. The bare minimum we work with now is pistols & knives. It’s almost as much fun as knives only, and no one yells when they get shot.
Actually, you are supposed to aim for the soft belly when using a bayonet. The can easily get stuck in the ribs. The throat is just an illogically small and difficult target.
@...LukeV1-5:
That’s likely a lasgun. Only slightly stronger than your typical flash light.

This is how it usually goes down, as the orks have a really low muscle density, and are no stronger than an ordinary man. Or at least that’s what the Primer tells me.
@...Paul_Is_Drunk: Not a chance. The gear is EXACTLY what orks are modeled with. The spikes, fur, choppa, etc. The only difference is the size, because the Imperium’s view of humanity doesn’t allow for anything to be tougher or scarier than the Emperor’s soldiers.
I’m always amused when I read a 40k story and some poor guardsman gets a reality check the first time he actually sees a xenos. “This shit aint nothing like training!” Que the Commissar to step in at about this point in time…
I love how the ork is tiny.

Ever had a knife fight on COD4?
It’s what the game should have been made for.

Also great for improving your accuracy.

@Theo11:
To be more precise, an upward thrust into the upper torso entering at the belly is most desired.
What makes the green grass grow?
Blood, Blood, Bright Red Blood, and I make the blood flow.
Stab, Twist, Withdraw, AHHH!!!!
Basic training really has a way of making you remember soldier skills 101.
you may never get close enough to use it, but if you do. . .
“stick them with the pointy end.”
@...suicydking: I think that’s one of the almost unseen squats.
@...Theo11: True, but this dude is wearing scale mail.
Or you could shoot them.
With your big gun.

bayonet on an ork to kill it?
I read a 40K novel where troops had to take the time to saw the heads off supposedly dead orks just to make sure they were dead
