    In french slang, Canadian and France french that is, une pipe is a blow job.
    So basicaly, you could say that the picture is saying “that is not a blow job”.

    I’m fully biligual in French and english if your wondering fyi.

    and dhg4983 and CJFreeze, in no particular order: Precisely Margit’s point: it is a picture, not the thing. Previously, depictions in art were taken more literally. I think the blow job slang term post-dates this image by some decades.

    Unfortunately, surrealism such as this is a one or two trick pony. It has limited irony.

    i always thought it was an existential piece, as i read it as “This is a pipe”
