@...LukeV1-5: Not really (at least not in the grand scheme of the character). She was just more of a strong independent career woman who didn’t have time to date silly wimpy guys. Butch Lesbians? What are those? We don’t admit sex happens in comic books! Why, if we did, we’d have to reexamine Batman’s relationship with Robin! Some writers play to the intendre more than others.
A) Decent movie (I tend to find the character boring, and this movie held my attention). The opening battle was epic and surprisingly violent.
B) She’s fucked Batman, Superman, the pilot in this movie, and a number of others. Def not gay.
C) She was created by the inventor of the lie detector machine, and most of her early appearances had her tied up in some way.
D) The Femazon/Hardcore woman was tacked on later to modernize her, and is part of the reason she’s having a hard time establishing a fan base.
Today’s spiritual decedent of her original incarnation would be that Empowered chick who’s always getting tied up and tortured.
Anyway, this movie does a decent job of solving many of the problems the character has. Good action, funny humor, decent for a film that tries to appeal to both adults and kids.
Saw this at comicon. It was very bleh. Had some good moments, but nothing to tie them together or hold my interest once the moment was gone. Just my opinion of course, but there are way more interesting female superheros out there.
@...Paul_Is_Drunk: I beleive PID is correct… WW was not originally the character she is depicted as nowadays… The Femazon/Maneating Nutcracker persona she has now… I dunno…
invasion of wonder woman threads.
@...ColombianMonkey: Invasion of shut up.
It is too early for theme day.
But please, continue.
One of those characters that have absolutely zero appeal to me.
She looks hideous in this version.
In fairness, though, isn’t her character meant to be a butch lesbian?
Leastways, that’s the way I always thought of it.
