I feel bad for him; he’s gone through a hell of a lot. He’s also (permanently?) lost the ability to talk.
Oh well, when you’re a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, you don’t need to talk.
In a previous incarnation of well, me, he was my patient when he was having all those surgeries. He and his wife are really nice people. He came close to death countless times. Cancer kept coming back, infections, etc. Just don’t look under the bandages. The cancer ate away almost all of his neck, I think he’s being held together with chewing gum. There is almost no tissue left. Poor guy. 🙁 And every day he could, he watched movies and wrote and wrote and wrote on his laptop. I envy that work ethic!
*I* am your father.
