Did you know? Every baby born in a US hospital has an artificially engineered symbiote implanted in its head. This symbiote releases pacifying neurochemicals whenever it detects emotions relating to discontent or, in extreme circumstances, sedition. This ensures that the population remains placid and easy to control.

Of course, I say every. The government lets a couple of fish through the net, on purpose, so as not to arouse suspicion. Every country has its revolutionaries.

When these symbiotes die or cease to function, for any reason, the onrush of realisation into the now unfettered mind manifests in what is termed in medical science as “advanced psychosis”.
Seeing the state as it really is, a tyrannical totalitarian “Big Brother”, it is not uncommon for these individuals to lash out violently, often killing others in an attempt to destroy the symbiote.

As of late, the increase in deaths at the hands of teenagers is symbolic of a trend that worries the US despots: The symbiotes are finding it difficult to adapt to the rapid advances in technology, and therefore information, brought on by the invention of the microprocessor. As minds grow, and develop, the symbiote is overcome by the new ideas and thought processes occurring within the brain, and loses control of its host.

This is also why the US government hate the Mexicans and the Canadians: that unbonded individuals can be born on the same landmass as the US, and could, were the borders not strictly controlled, intermingle with the cattle-like populace of the States, is an unacceptable threat.
To help prevent the merging of bonded and unbonded individuals, the US government ingrain a dislike for Canadians and Mexicans into the symbiote as one of its primary imperatives. Also, quoting the reason of wishing to prevent illegal mass immigration, they have clamped down completely on crossing the US-Mexico border,
enforcing rigid, stringent, and above all invasive investigative procedures on those wishing to cross the border. If nothing can be found in these procedures to prevent the individual coming into the US, it permits the border patrol an opportunity to implant an emergency symbiote. This procedure is risky, but the border patrol deem it necessary to protect the homeland. A 700 mile fence is in the proposal stages to physically hold back the waves of free minds.

While not as difficult to cross the the US-Mexico border, the border with Canada has similar procedures, though fewer physical practices. The obstacles here are in the administrative process. Through making it difficult to request a visa, or intentionally giving those who do cross the border a bad experience on their return, they hope to deter further visits on an individual scale. Thus far, the practice has proved successful.
