So you would use Mother Theresa as an example of a ‘good’ Christian? She took advantage of dying people while travelling the world rubbing shoulders with the rich and powerful. Nobody taken under the ‘care’ of one of her institutions actually got real help, they were places to proselytize to the dying. She was a monster. There are plenty of religious folk that have done good for the world, choose one of them as an example.

Hang on a second. Abraham never said or did anything that proved he was indeed an atheist. In fact, there are more hints that show he was a deist.
Either way. Hitler on the other hand is more likely to have been an atheist. But I will say that he did use Christianity to ‘unite’ the people and brainwash them.
What a nonsensical comparison. Lincoln was one of the finest men, no matter if theist or atheist.
Lincoln was vocally anti-religious in his youth but became more spiritual over the course of his life… I don’t think he ever really qualified as a Christian but he wasn’t an Atheist either.

Hitler hated Christianity. Saying he was Christian is like saying Osama was Christian.
In a letter quoted by Joseph Lewis, Lincoln wrote “The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma.” Law partner William Herndon stated that Lincoln “was an infidel of the radical type… never mentioned the name of Jesus, except to scorn and detest the idea of a miraculous conception.” Wife Mary Todd Lincoln’s opinion was that “Mr. Lincoln had no hope and no faith in the usual acceptance of those words.”

Hitler was more involved with the occult than christianity. Plus what does religion have to do with whether or not a person is a bat shit insane murder? Joseph Stalin was atheist, so was Mao tse Tung and Slobodan Milosevic. Insanity and evil are not bound by religious beliefs.
PLUS for every evil atheist dictator there are religious ones too. And for every crazed religious nut jobs there are also good-hearted and generally benevolent ones too. Pictures like this just show that idiocy can come from something as “rational” and “logical” as atheism.

Hitler might have believed in God, but I don’t think he can really be labled a Christian, since Christians don’t advocate killing people. So I guess it’s a matter of what these men espoused versus how they measured up to their own beliefs. But like Goldfinger intoned, the theme here doesn’t stand up to even rudimentary scrutiny.
Thought I’d add my two cents in. Hitler was a self-hating Jew. You heard me, he was Jewish! he got picked on as a child by Jewish kids so he killed as many Jews as he could for revenge.

Actually he wasn’t. That’s a lie that some people have passed around for years but it’s 100% bullshit. His grandmother worked for a rich Jewish family. That’s about as close as his lineage got to Judaic.

I’m quite certain of this. The story is that some cousin tried to borrow money from Hitler or something and in retaliation he went around telling everyone Hitler was Jewish. This was pre WWII and was supposed to hurt his political career since of course Hitler didn’t invent antisemitism since it’s existed as long as there have been semetic peoples. In the end it was proven false via several investigations by partial and impartial government bodies.

Keep in mind that there are two kinds of Jewish: cultural and religious. One doesn’t have to be an ethnic or cultural Jew (i.e. an Israelite) to be a religious Jew. Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski, for example, was raised Polish Catholic but converted to Judaism when he married Cynthia, now his ex-wife.

No. Hitler was not in any way part or whole Jewish. He was not Jewish. No matter how much you must wish he was the plain fact of the matter is his father was not Jewish.
His mother worked for some time as a servant to a Jewish family and another rumour was that she had an affair with the man of the house.

Hitler was anything but a Christian. I’ve purchased, and watched, an old WWII documentary, in which he basically said, “If God teaches against conquest, then God must go!”. Yeah, that really sounds like a Christian to me.
I have no idea on what Lincoln was, but if you read in depth about what his real motives were for starting the Civil War, you’ll find he is not the icon he was made out to be.
