They do make great pets. I had one for a while. When i caught it I did not know that it was a female. I found that out when it laid eggs in the small fish tank I had it in.It was always fun to watch her eat. They are easy to take care of, get so smaller bugs they will eat it , then spry a small amount of water on/around them.

@...KommissarKvC: biggest one I raised as a kid in Okinawa was 6.5 inches long. Some of the other kids had bigger ones.
I had one once. It would sit on my boonie hat when i’d go hiking and i’d NEVR get a bug bite. Several years later, (i think 4 or 5 years but not sure) she died and I ate her. (stone roasted with butter) and ever since then… men look slightly more edible. I named her Nox. She was ’bout 6″ long. Was a gift frum me uncle.

Watch out pup! He knows Mantis!
Mantises are one of the most aggressive bugs I’ve ever seen.
I want one of those creatures!
