…begins it.
Found this memorial, to the Japanese sent to internment camps, outside the hotel I stayed at in DC in July (08). The names on the wall are the names of the internment camps.
December 7th, 1941‒a date which will live in infamy…

I’ve visited Pearl Harbor many times and shall visit it again. So easy to imagine ships lined up with planes swooping in over head. Still need to visit the Arizona though. Can’t get myself to though, I can guess how solemn a scene it is. I love visiting the USS Missouri, a grand navel vessel. They recently added a Pacific Aviation Museum too. Love seeing those old planes.
we (my whole family and most of hubby’s) have decided that we’re gonna visit every museum, memorial, statue. etc…that there is in DC and surrounding area. We’ve hit most of the easy ones (Udvar-Hazy 3 times, Air force family), so we have to start getting more creative. Our big one on this trip was the Holocaust Museum. It was strangely not overly depressing and answered a few questions that I’d been wondering about.
