@...copypaiste: He probably practiced not making the tongue out/twisted face a lot of drummers make… he wants to appear composed… but you know the tongue is begging to come out, even after all these years.
He is The Man. Saw them live last year and he just owned the kit; his solo is one of the few times at a gig you’ll see everyone NOT head to the bar during the drum solo, there was just the sight of 10,000 jaws hitting the floor at once. He even smiled 😀 Long may he reign.
He’s not a drummer. He’s a percussionist.
He’s played drums for numerous jazz/swing bands since the 60’s, and he himself actually auditioned for Rush somewhere in the early 70’s.
I’ll cry when he retires.
Neil Peart!
Neil Peart is a great musician, but I can’t understand his dead-pan all the time while he plays 🙂
i own a set of his USED sticks from a RUSH concert here. touched by the hands of god…
@...copypaiste: He pours every ounce of energy into his job, so he’s got nothing left for facial expressions.
Imagine having to be his drum tech and setting up that kit all the time. Geeez!
NIEEEELLL!!
DRUM SOLO OF LIFE!!
*belts out crazy drum solo*
*meatwad floats and is ressurected*

Ummm Did you guys know he’s played the exact same drum solo since the 80s?
