I had taken an astronomy class a few semesters ago, and my professor told us that it takes more than a couple million years for the light produced at the center of the sun to travel from the core to the radiation zone, but only 6 minutes to travel from the radiation zone to Earth… It’s insane to look at the sun right now, and realize that light was produced during the Cambrian period… Insane.
@... pBanana, I think your professor meant the “energy” produced in the center takes an extremely long time to reach the surface. The light we see comes from the photosphere, not from the center. Though I agree, the complex structure of the sun is pretty awesome.
The eye of Sauron?
Nice one.
Sauron’s anus
This is the sort of thing the word “awesome” should be reserved for.
I’ve got a whole set of these that should be up in a bit.
my grandfather spent a lot of time trying to photograph the sun..
up until he went blind
I think I’ve started something good. If I’m being presumptuous, life sux n’all.
It feels like they edited the black part out.
And yes Nyokki you started something beautiful thx 😀
My God, it’s full of tentacles.
It is as if I have drawn a brisk autumn mornings first breath, each time I open my eyes.
why is my comment not on the drop down?
Is this because of all the _irst posting? I make a legit comment and it disappears? What a gip.
Tiki! Fix it.

That gets a 10 on the Awesome-O-Meter.
Oh shit, I divided by zero!
@...nyokki: In case you had any doubts: Yes. Yes you did. Thank you.
