And Oswald, Penguin, in reality is more like a refined upper class villain that just happens to have a long beak-like nose and is short. He runs some strip club or something and that’s where all the scum meets, Batman lets him by so he can squeeze out info later.
Nothing like Batman Return’s Penguin, it was still good, but it would obviously be nothing like the one in the upcoming film, IF it’s true that he’ll be in it.
Of course there are many opponets to choose from, such as Mad Hatter, Bane, Man-Bat, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, Clayface, Ventriloquist and Scarface (although that one is the lamest, but it’d make a nice psychological thriller as a side character).
I’d be surprised if the director returns for another. How do you possibly try to outdo Dark Knight and Ledger’s performance without falling into Spider-Man 3 territory?
I’m sure the studio will try to throw all sorts of money at him, but he’s basically got a blank check to do whatever he wants now. Maybe they can get Joel Schumacher to step in instead.
I’ll say this right now, I know for a fact that there will be a third movie. That’s definite. As far as the villains in it are concerned, I also am certain they are done with the joker. My best guesses as to the villains for the third movie are cat woman or the riddler. Also I’m fairly certain it will be the same director. The director and christian bale are locked in a three movie contract. So unless he finds a way to weasle his way out of it it’ll be him again.
Nope — Bale is “signed” for three movies (which doesn’t actually mean much), but the director has been contracting per movie. He doesn’t have to do anything if he decides he doesn’t want to. There was just an article about in in Variety.
First off, Depp was never considered for the role of The Joker, and frankly I don’t think he’d be good for the role. The only rumor I’ve heard is that they’re thinking about him for The Riddler. Secondly, Aaron Eckhart signed on for three movies (so did Heath Ledger), so I think it’s safe to say that although Harvey Dent is dead, Two-Face is still alive, and if Heath Ledger was still alive The Joker would have a part to play as well.
Also, from everything I’ve seen and heard, Christopher Nolan loves making these movies, and Christian Bale loves being Batman. I highly doubt that any member of the amazing cast of these movies is going to back out now.
Joker won’t return, and was never meant to. There’s a deleted scene where he cuts himself free to fall to his death, but they cut it in light of the whole Ledger thing.
The Dark Knight is amazing…probably one of my top 10 movies.
As far as the 3rd plot, they most likely won’t include the Joker. It would ruin a perfectly good balance already set into the new franchise.
Villians I’d like to see: Possibly a brilliantly minded and twisted version of the Riddler. Something kind of like the villian in Saw but less flesh and gore torture but similar antics and guessing games.
A Mr. Freeze involving some sort of new Wayne Enterprise weapons/biological scientist turned awry. It could happen.
I think a very smart move would be to include Catwoman in some new sexy, gothic matter since Rachael Dawes was killed off and now we’re without a leading female role. This could fit in nicely.
This current rendition of (the god-damn) Batman seems a little too serious for The Penguin to make an appearance, I could be wrong though. The Riddler or The Joker with Harley Quinn would be cool, I just hope they don’t put to many villians in like they did Spidy 3.
I am no way implying that spider-man can compare with (the god-damn) Batman, I just hopeing a failure of one series of movies is not repeated on a much better product.
Spidey’s movies weren’t good to begin with. All of them have been boring to me, the only interesting scene in the whole trilogy is when he fights Macho Man.
And like I said before, Penguin isn’t a “fantastical” character. He’s close to being the most human and civilized of them all, check out the comics instead of using Danny DeVito as reference.
I think Mr. Freeze could make a magnificent villain if they returned to his roots as a tortured soul. Considering how Dark Knight didn’t present Batman’s actions as purely good (a mistake made by other, lesser hero movies), it would be interesting to take it a step further and give us a hero AND a villain we can root for.
I have way to many geek activities now, I am not about to dive into the abyss of the comic book world. I will take your word for it that the Penguin would be good in the new movies, but I would still like to see Harley Quinn.
Disclaimer: I do have the Dark Horse graphic novels “The Dark Knight Returns” and “Aliens vs Predator” but I bought them over 15 years ago in a moment of weakness and boredom.
When are they going to learn to stop hyping things this early? Does that ever work? It seems like it just guarantees that if the product isn’t 100% perfect, it will get as much disdain and hatred as possible.
Marketers are stupid, and people that hire them a are stupid as well.
Whoever told you that is lying to you. That’s 100% undeniable bullshit. I know plenty of people who work at Warner and there is no such cut of the movie. Anywhere or in existence or was ever planned.
They said they were doing a 3rd before the 2nd was released. Given the amount of money it has made, I certainly doubt that has changed.
But still, this is a fan made poster
The villians in the 3rd movie are supposed to be the Riddler and the Penguin. I’ve heard rumor that they were going to cast Johnny Depp.
The director said that he’d never ever use the Penguin… thank god. I’d rather they save Depp for the next Joker role.
Fuck Depp.
And Oswald, Penguin, in reality is more like a refined upper class villain that just happens to have a long beak-like nose and is short. He runs some strip club or something and that’s where all the scum meets, Batman lets him by so he can squeeze out info later.

I don’t like them calling it the Dark Knight Returns if it isn’t based on the book.
There’s no script yet. Not even a treatment. So no casting either. Just lots of “I heard” which really means “I read” and its all crap.
That’s a pretty quality fan poster though.

How can Two-Face be alive if he died right there and then at the end? He fell like 3 or 4 stories high and laid montionless on the ground.
The Dark Knight is amazing…probably one of my top 10 movies.

stop comparing batman with spider-man…. the old fucking batman movies were batter than the spider-emo-fuck movies….
better… do excuse the typo

oh god, i hope Bale doesnt use that faggy fucking voice in the next one
this looks a little to quality to be a fan made poster. sauce?
It’s fan-made, so stop your hating Caio.
I didn’t notice before, it says article written by Vicki Vale.

Really? You have contacts in the cutting room?
Bullshit.
I’m a very important person, people know who I am.
Remember the guy who knew who Batman was? Mr. Ress. That could mean mysteries = The Riddler(i hope not), or Mr. Freeze
