The Chandos portrait is a famous painting believed to depict William Shakespeare, and is named after James Brydges, 1st Duke of Chandos, who owned the portrait. It has not been possible to solve the question of who painted the portrait or whether it really depicts Shakespeare. However, in 2006 the National Portrait Gallery in London concluded that the Chandos portrait was the most likely to be a representation of Shakespeare.

Shakespeare wasn’t a real person but an anology of Pallas Athena, the Spear Shaker and Francis Bacon wrote the stories of Shakespeare.

I don’t care whether he was real or not, he ruined the lives of hundreds of school children.
is the gay earing shooped?
no
Srsly he was roumored to be gay. Or in the closet at least.
Is that the gay side? I thought the right side was gay.
Why the fuck is he wearing an earring? Is this another attempt by the homosexuals to alter history to suit their own agenda?
@bright green
I totally agree. I fucking hated being made to read Shakespeare’s works in school.
The earing, although it appears to be, is not shooped, sever portraits of Shakespeare depict him wearing an earing, and the right ear is the gay ear.
Regardless of that, its widely believed Shakespeare was gay.
I’d also like to point out i liked reading his(supposedly) plays, sonnets, and etc.
Also, kinda looks like seth green……
E.I..Shakespeare wasn’t a real person… but Sherlock Holmes was…
By the way… this is not a gay earing…it is a pirate one!
Shakespeare was a woman. and that earring is fucking looks strangely out of place.
Shakespeare is actually still alive. He’s living with Elvis and Jim Morrison.
shakespeare, elvis and jim morrison, where in fact the same person…ADOLF HITLER CHAPLIN
Also on that island: heathjokerledger
And maybe kurt cobain

Not biggiE
guys, you do believe in TikiGod, but do not believe in Shakespeare.. that’s strange 🙂
GUYS THERE IS NO SHAKESPEARE!!!!!! EVERY NIGHT LITTLE MEN INVADE YOUR NOSTRILS FILLING YOU WITH FALSE MEMORIES!!! I HAVE PROOF A FRIEND OF A FRIEND TOLD ME!!! OMG RIGHT?!?!!?!?
I like reading Shakespeare. His plays makes me laugh and was obviously having a lot of fun w/ the language. Maybe I’ll find a portrait of Dante as well, another author that was having some fun w/ language, albeit, not English.
the right ear is the gay ear?
are you fucking kidding me?
do any of you actually know a gay person??
That portrait sure doesn’t look a lot like the existing copy of a copy of his deathmask.
As for reading Shakespeare, nothing is as good as that much hype. Being told that he’s the greatest writing in English is bound to make his faults shine through (ie Hamlet) and make it generally monotonous or annoying for people who don’t like him: Not everyone likes everything, no matter how good. Being told you have to like something is annoying and off-putting.
what exactly makes an ear “gay”?
