A pastoral scene of a lone house, composed using Blender:
Blender is a Free Software 3D animation application. It can be used for modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, water simulations, skinning, animating, rendering, particle and other simulations, non-linear editing, compositing, and creating interactive 3D applications. Blender is available for several operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, IRIX, Solaris, NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD with unofficial ports for BeOS, SkyOS, AmigaOS, MorphOS and Pocket PC. Blender has a robust feature set similar in scope and depth to other high-end 3D software such as Softimage|XSI, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Lightwave and Maya. These features include advanced simulation tools such as rigid body, fluid, and softbody dynamics, modifier based modeling tools, powerful character animation tools, a node based material and compositing system and Python for embedded scripting.
I have no idea what any of that means but I thought some of you guys might.
It would be best not to link to a generic page that gets updated every day, and link to the actual image page with the credits and all that.
I actually prefer 3DS Max but blender is a great program made even better cause it’s free!
yer house is leaning
I find that architecture highly improbable.
I love blender! So far my favorite 3D modeling program. Free and highly scriptable, with a great interface and tons of tutorials. I’m going to be learning Maya in the fall so we’ll see which one I like better then…
Sorry Tiki, didn’t realize I was doing that.
Blender is awesome, 3ds is just so expensive if you aren’t a student
Blender is an absolute pain in the ass to work in. I’ve used Lightwave 9 (my favorite), maya, and blender, and blender’s interface is absolutely my least favorite.
