Mmmm… Barrett M82/M107 sniper rifle. .50 cal bullet, effective range up to 2.4km. “When you care enough to send the very best…” courtesy of the US Army.
I’m gonna go with Nimbo on this one. The is the Accuracy International AW50. It’s a British rifle, not American. And I have to say I’m a little jealous, as it is supposedly more accurate and had greater range than the esteemed Barret .50, whose effective range is indeed, around 2.4km (or 1.5 miles)…
@natedog
Sniping stuff at 3 miles? Back in ‘Nam? Before either of these rifles existed? Seriously? I don’t think so… ROFL 😛
Oh boy! Gun thread! Now let us unleash technical information at one another and laugh at those who do not know when the Accuracy International AW50 was invented. What fools, eh? *sigh*
@Spaceduck
Chill… Your gonna miss the roflboat…
My laughter is at the hilarity of natedogs post, which I’m actually rather certain he fully intended to be humorously ludicrous…
Of course, if that’s not the case the joke’s on me… :/

are you sure that effective range is accurate?
i’m almost positive i was taking shit out from 3 miles away when i was stationed in DaNang back in ‘Nam
Very best? I donno about that. .408CT or .338LM would be more along those lines
Barrett? Nadda, thats an Accuracy International .50
US Army? Dont think so. Cant really identify the cammo pattern, but not too many countries use the AW50, US certainly isnt one.
