It was his nickname given to him his freshman year at some polytech school in California for architechture.
He had a costume change every song set… Including the one from the “Fat” video, ect. The stage was filled with Storm Troopers, Jawas, and a Darth Vader; the guitarist, bassist and drummer were all dressed as Jedis. Like I said… AMAZING.
He went to California Polytechnic State University, aka Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, where i’m in aerospace. it’s not just arch, basically everything engineering as well as other stuff. Definitely one of the funnier people of our time
I agree. He puts on one hell of a show.
I don’t get why they call him “Weird Al”
my god i cant wait for him to come to calgary

Rhetorical statement banana, but thanks for the bit of trivia, I would have never picked him for an architect wannabe (don’t know if he graduated)
my nephew’s both think he’s the Beethoven of their time. i’ll bet his live show is great.
How interesting – didn’t know he was so highly regarded. You’ve all piqued my interest. Wonder if he’s coming to Houston…
I am thinking about going to see him when he comes through CA.
He kicks so much butt. He’s a super hip-geeknerd.
He was recently on the Jurassic Park Rifftrax with Mike Nelson. Pretty damn funny, if I do say so myself.
