Please don’t vote for him deuce. He’s a communist. I really don’t want the government controlling everything. “Redistributing the wealth”. Fuck! it’s a controlled economy. Which is exactly communism.
Wow. First off, what’s wrong with eating babies? Secondly, it’s not income taxes I have a problem with, it’s all the extra taxes I’m going to have to pay for his stupid universal healthcare and the rest of his bullshit.
What’s being said is that a state-controlled economy (as opposed to the free-market) is not necessary for redistribution of wealth, I think you and Frank misconstrued each other.
It’s always amusing how the upper class has fooled those who’d benefit the most from socialized programs into opposing them. Like it’s some great huge evil to not have to worry about bankrupting your entire family if you get sick… btw, if the government provided health insurance, you’d get to take home more money cuz your employer would no longer have to pay your insurance costs. EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
“I mean surely having someone take money from someone and giving it to another person implies it’s being controlled.”
Then every economy is controlled. If you take my tax dollars and give them to the construction company to build roads that is a redistribution of wealth and controlling the economy.
Socialism and Marxism are the two basic types of communism.
duh. How can you sound off about it if you don’t even know that much?
A controlled economy is not communism. Communism at its basest form is a lot like Buddhism or more specifically the principles of Sangha. Its the community working towards the greater good of the whole.
If anyone thinks the phantom “upper class” is to blame for any of their problems they should take their tinfoil hat and gtfo.
btw: we have universal healthcare up here in socialist-democratic Canada and it has its flaws as well. Such as abuse (anything free gets fucked).
If America had universal healthcare your employer would not give any money back to you, you’d find its chaotic and misused 99% of the time, and you’d end up regretting it.
Magnus, I think your comments are usually hilarious, etc etc, but goddamn, no.
Communism is a form of socialism. Not the other way round. That’s why you have Democratic Socialists, Fabian(Utopian Socialists), and so on. Communism is generally based on Marxist theory, though not necessarily (see Chinese Communism).
I don’t think it’s possible for any system to be perfect. The government should be interested in keeping it’s tax payers healthy enough to be productive. It’s my guess that many people would continue to pay for health care because the free system would be inconvenient to them but the free system could potentially force current health insurance companies to lower their rates in order to compete.
I can’t guess at an ideal solution but something needs to change to reel in the insurance companies. They have too much influence on the medical fields. I’m not sure money should be coming from our pockets. There is plenty of money being wasted by the government that could be put to better use.
The main characteristic of socialism (and of communism) is public ownership of the means of production, and, therefore, the abolition of private property. The right to property is the right of use and disposal. Under fascism, men retain the semblance or pretense of private property, but the government holds total power over its use and disposal.
by the definitions presented here, FDR, Public Schools and Libraries are the work of the Soviet Politburo. No wonder America is so fucked – the citizens are fucktards when it comes to economic and political theory.
What, no watermelon?
Sorry, had to say it. I’m voting for him, so I guess it’s ok.

McCain’s a fucking idiot but he’s the lesser of the two evils. This country’s going in the shitter no matter who gets in office.
I say we get zombie Reagan to run.
I don’t think you know what the word “communist” means.
McCain terrifies me for the same reasons that Bush motivated me to get out and vote against him.
Unfortunately I don’t like either main candidates (such is the life of a liberal who likes guns).
Zombie Truman would make a much better president
skeleton jefferson for 08
@outofocus
Come to think of it, Obama would be more of a Socialist than a Communist.
Ohhh! Me so hungry! Me love burrito looong time!
Also, laff at Exacerbate. ‘Good lord, income tax!? It must be THE BABY-EATING COMMIES! Flee!’
Wow. First off, what’s wrong with eating babies? Secondly, it’s not income taxes I have a problem with, it’s all the extra taxes I’m going to have to pay for his stupid universal healthcare and the rest of his bullshit.
Socialism is a form of communism, kids. der
Vote for Obama if only to see the disappointed looks on celebrities faces when he proves no better than any other politician.
More accurate to say that communism is a form of socialism.
Both parties are pretty damn socialistic anyway, you’re screwed either way.
Socialism is not a form of communism.
“Redistributing wealth” does not at all imply a controlled economy.
Learn your books, mates. Wtf? ^^
What does it mean then? I mean surely having someone take money from someone and giving it to another person implies it’s being controlled.

Unless I’m missing the irony.
Ching chong nip nong nong.

I think I’ll get make me a baby burrito.
Are you guys fucking kidding me??? Zombie T. Roosevelt!!
zombie mao 08. that way we can have communism and zombies.
Ron Paul
As much as I hate Ron Paul, I feel if McCain chose him as his running mate he would probably win due to Paul’s large group of liberal followers.
It’s such fun watching you guys ^_^
He gave a speech at my school this morning. I would have gone to see if he could sway my vote across party lines, but it was invitation only.

oops…
Ayn Rand
BTW I am not a raving Randian, but I do find her definitions and summaries clear, concise and well thought out.

and this thread fails since no one commented on how kick ass tacos and fajitas are.
It’s cute in a scary and pathetic way how this baby will become the president of America.
