“Fountain” by Marcel Duchamp, 1917, photographed by Alfred Stieglitz at his 291 gallery after the 1917 Society of Independent Artists exhibit. Stieglitz used a backdrop of The Warriors by Marsden Hartley to photograph the urinal. The exhibition entry tag can be clearly seen.

Ooh, I liked that site too. TY Thrella. It always amazes me what’s considered art and what’s considered ART.
Just to be clear, since I can’t say I’ve seen many urinals in my lifetime, this is rotated 180 deg? Not 90 deg.
“The masterwork that sparked all of this is a urinal rotated 90 degrees from its functional position and signed with the pseudonym “R. Mutt.”
From the site Thrella posted.
I guess its 180 from the perspective of the person using the Urinal because thats a semi circle it did right? I’m not sure. Unless my universe is different from the universe of people who pee sideways.
And people wonder why I have no respect for modern art. Crap like this gets taken seriously.
