I saw the preview (teaser trailer) for this when I went to see Bourne Ultimatum (or something). It made absolutely no sense, no title was given, it looked like some stupid horror/post-apocalyptic film with no details, and looked like it was shot with a really high-quality camcorder. Then I saw another trailer, with like 2 images of maybe some animal looking things, and the head of the Statue of Liberty flying down the street. WTF is with a trailer that tells you nothing about the movie. Doesn’t make me want to see it.
I saw a preview at, umm… i dunno some movie, oh yeah, i am legend, and this movie is about some dudes that are having a party for some reason and BOOM huge explosions downtown and for some dumb ass reason they go and investigate… then from there it looked like scenes from that new Godzilla movie, Dumb logic, this alien is tearing down buildings and the marines are charging it with there m-16s.
Dude, I think this movie looks awesome, and the filming tactics in the previews are freaking brilliant. Its like the Office for giant monster movies. I’m fucking in love.
The new age giant monster movie of win, hell there’s even the concept art out of a giant mutant whale thingy that’s supposed to be the monster… it’s on MCS to I think… this movie will be much win.
I have passes to go see this Tuesday night at a sneak preview. I am so not excited at all, this movie looks retarded as hell. Blair Witch redux, anyone?
Stop whining assmunchers. This movie is awesome. Greatest idea from Hollywood in a long time. And that’s a big world.
What, something original scares you guys?
It’s easy to criticize, it’s hard to create. That’s why sometimes you get some real wankers on here with lame comments, like “you’re stupid”. Wow, did your Mommy type that for you?
@Hepathos and those dissing guys who don’t like it:
What makes it good?
To be honest I know nothing about it, so give me a reason to want to watch instead of namecalling back.
Its JJ Abrams (which I know, is not a good point for everyone).
Its got (presumably but not confirmed) at least one giant monster.
The previews actually are trying to give some suspense as to what’s happening in the movie, not just present a big ugly and say “here’s the monster, watch him wreak havoc.”
Instead, it says “here’s what the monsters is doing and done, you won’t believe it when you see what it actually is!”
Its got Seaking. Apparently.
@xidor:
I understand what they’re trying to do with it (in fact, it’s painfully transparent when they try it) but to me it’s just generic horror OMG MONSTER OF SOME KIND I GUESS footage with no plot to be seen. Which is kind of why I go to movies, usually.
I hope it’s not all terrifying. I am scared extremely easily, and the movie looks cool. I’m hoping for it to scare me about as much now as the 1998 version of Godzilla did when I was but a little lad.
I thought so!
You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!

Seaking used surf. It’s super effective!

I’m not gonna see it.

@Max:
It’s about a giant mosnter that crashes New York.
That alone is enough reason for me.
But It’s filmed with a handheld camere, so it makes it look like it’s a real attack. Like when our country joyfully watched those 9/11 videos.
