It’s not like it’s scoped for sniping, that’s probably a 1.5-2x scope for just SLIGHTLY better accuracy, and a bayonet is never a bad idea. Unless it’s a zombie attack, in which case my opinion is blunt and edged weapons are BAD because of the risk of infection by blood transmittal.
The G36 has an interesting dual sighting system that has both a unmagnified red dot sight and a 1.5x (or 3.5x) magnified optical sight. Works great in video games, but IRL I’ve heard people complain that they are both too small…
So no, this isn’t a sniper rifle or anything like that, but nowadays, you still don’t see that many assault rifles with bayonets. Something about it not being part of current theater tactics…
Schulz, a bladed weapon would be better than a weapon that needed ammo against zombies. There’s no delay in loading, plus you don’t have to worry about finding ammo for it later.
Again, edged weapons are dangerous because of the risk of getting some of that blood on you (in eyes, mouth, open cuts, whatever) if the virus/zombification is transmitted by blood (and I wouldn’t want to be the guy who finds out). Yes, bullets expose blood, but you can be much further away. And, what if your bladed weapon gets stuck in a skull or other bone? And, you can only use a bladed weapon against one target at a time, just like guns (technically, one bullet at a time) and I would much rather be far away, that way reloading isn’t as dangerous/scary (you don’t have 100 zombies right in your face while you try to jam a clip in your gun while your hands are shaking, etc).
Ima go with schulzbrianr on this one… The bayonet should be your weapon of last resort in the event of a zombie apocalypse… If you are down to using a knife, or a sword, you are in a bad spot indeed…
I personally will find the nearest suit of plate mail and keep one of my swords as well as a gun or 2. No one says you can’t have both and a ski mask under the helmet will stop most of the blood from hitting your face.
The problem I can foresee (for me at least) is that you (I) can’t move fast in plate mail. I say go with jeans, and leather jacket, which should give you a bit of armor against teeth (which is about the only weapon most zombies will use), and still leave you fairly mobile (possibly gloves, if you want to cut the fingers off so you can shoot better, your choice). My problem with a ski mask is, it still leaves your eyes and mouth exposed (depending on style), so I suggest some form of sunglasses, or protective goggles, instead. And, I’m not saying a big knife won’t come in handy, but I would certainly prefer to use my guns until they run out of ammo before switching to a close quarters weapon like a sword.
What is that? an HK-G36 with a bayonet? Don’t think i’ve ever seen one with a bayonet attached before…
Assault couch.
I recognise it from S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Putting a bayonet on a scoped rifled is just wrong.
