“Currently under construction in Dubai, Hydropolis is the world’s first luxury underwater hotel. It will include three elements: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the submarine leisure complex. It is one of the largest contemporary construction projects in the world, covering an area of 260 hectares, about the size of London’s Hyde Park.”

Some sci-fi thriller/survival event thing is happen here like super smart sharks are going to attack or something.
“I dared to dream… Rapture.“
hellooooooo tsunami!
Damn. Hepathos beat me to it.
Stock up on Adam, everybody, and don’t forget your trusty lug wrench.
Man, Dubai has some of the most awesome megastructures I have ever seen…
Of course now I’m just waiting for the aliens from “The Abyss” to pop up and say we are illegally encroaching on their real estate…
@Phyreblade: By the look of the building, they desinged it… 😀
Would you kindly send up some more towels?
You sure can build a lot when you horde all the money and doom 90% of the population to poverty and near starvation!
You can get a lot of cool shit done when you stop being so girly about the whole human life/no slavery thing.
Come to Dubai. We’ll fuck our own mothers if it means we can make a buck.
I sense Captain Murphy is going to blow it up a few dozen times before he finds his happy cake oven.
you could not pay me to stay there
Dubai is fuckin smart. When the United Arab Emirates run out of oil, Dubai will still be one of the major tourist destinations out there. Next to Jerusalem probably the biggest one in the middle east.
When Saudi Arabia runs out of oil, it’s going to turn into the biggest Jihad training camp ever, because they spend unrealistic amounts of money on desalinization plants and pumping that water to gigantic cities in the middle of the fucking peninsula.
Dubai is the busy ant, and Saudi Arabia is the lazy cricket.
That building looks like a cock and balls. Coincidence?
Do I detect a hint of trees? at the bottom?
LOL
@Hepathos: Let’s hope they don’t decide they want it back at some point in the future…
@Caio: Good point. Dubai is busy making a name for itself erecting all of these rich tourist attractions. Now I think we are actually more likely to begin the switch to alternative fuels before they actually run out of oil, but either way they are setting themselves up with a great alternate income stream…
@Luke Magnifico: Yeah. Sea palm trees. Wow. These guys are goooood… ROFL
dude… wtf? why?
also, Tsunami’s, wtf? No…. Fails.
I dont really understand the appeal… Sure its underwater… but whats it got that other structures dont?
Also, can you say Bioshock?
@GlowMonkay
“I dont really understand the appeal… Sure its underwater… but whats it got that other structures dont?”
Err… I think you’re missing the point. That question is like saying:
“OK. So thats a Dodge Hennessey Venom 1000? Sure it’s has 1000 HP, but whats it got that other cars don’t?”
