    There are several of these stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. They go flying over the city, making the most distinctive sound of any aircraft out here.

    wtf. I live close to Fort Bragg/Pope AFB in NC and I’ve seen all kinds of weird crap, but never one of these.

    But it *looks* almost as cool as the B-2 Spirit, which I’m pretty sure is the point of most of those things.

    I work about a mile from Kirtland AFB and these things fly over my office multiple times a day. They’re pretty cool and, as Wookie_X stated, they’ve got the most distinctive sound. They sound like a cross between a prop plane and a helicopter.

    I see these old boys fly over my house all the time..they make em right here in amarillo tx at the Bell Helicopter plant.

    I read some where that they wanted to make a four rotor version. I could be wrong but if any one has more intel I would like to know more.
